Sales and Use Tax Info for Vendors at the Democratic National Convention

Raleigh –Vendors participating in the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, are required to collect and remit sales tax to the NC Department of Revenue. The state and local sales tax rate in Mecklenburg County is 7.25%.
Vendors currently registered with the Department of Revenue for sales and use tax purposes should display a copy of their Certificate of Registration during the convention. Registered vendors should report and pay the sales tax collected on their return due October 2012.
Nonregistered vendors must report sales tax collections during the convention on a Sales and Use Tax Return for Itinerant Merchants (Form E-557) by September 13, 2012.
