Wake County Man Charged in State Tax Case

RALEIGH – A Wake County businessman was arrested Monday on felony tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Antonio Lamar Bryan, 41, of 570 Timberknoll Lane, Wake Forest was charged on December 16, 2013 with two counts of Embezzlement of State Property and two counts of Embezzlement of County Property.
Arrest warrants allege that during the period January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009 Bryan, owner of Bounce Around Inflatables, embezzled and converted to his own use North Carolina and Wake County sales tax totaling $3,314.26. Additional warrants allege that during the period of January 1, 2010 through February 28, 2013 Bryan, as responsible corporate officer, did knowingly and willfully aid and abet A+ Event Rentals, LLC to embezzle North Carolina and Wake County sales tax totaling $14,018.73.
Bryan appeared before a Wake County magistrate and was placed under a $40,000 bond. A first appearance was scheduled for December 17, 2013 in Wake County District Court in Raleigh.
The charges against Bryan resulted from an investigation by a Special Agent with the Department’s Criminal Investigations Section in Raleigh.
