State Individual Income Tax Returns Due Monday, April 15
April 1, 2013
Raleigh, N.C.— State individual income tax returns mailed to the N.C. Department of Revenue must be postmarked April 15. E-filed returns must be sent electronically by midnight on April 15.
Taxpayers can get a 6-month extension to file their returns by filing a Form D-410, Application for Extension for Filing Individual Income Tax Return. The extension, however, is only for filing a return and not an extension of time to pay. Individual income taxes must be paid by April 15. Taxpayers who cannot pay their balance in full should still file their returns on time or request an extension.
