Lumberton Physician Charged with State Tax Offenses

RALEIGH – A Lumberton physician was arrested Wednesday on state tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Larry Adam Hearne, 62, of 202 Edinborough Drive, Lumberton, was charged on February 6, 2013 with three counts of failure to file North Carolina Individual Income Tax returns.
Arrest warrants allege Hearne willfully failed to file his 2008, 2009, and 2010 individual income tax returns with the North Carolina Department of Revenue. Hearne is employed at the Women's Life Center of Lumberton.
Hearne appeared before a Wake County magistrate and was placed under a $6,000.00 bond. A first court date was scheduled for February 21, 2013 in Wake County District Court in Raleigh.
The charges against Hearne resulted from an investigation by a special agent with the Department's Criminal Investigations Section in Raleigh.
