Stanly County Businessman Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Stanly County businessman pleaded guilty Tuesday to tax charges filed by
the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Robert Causey, 32, of 16302 Barbee Road, Stanfield, pleaded guilty on April 8, 2003 to two
counts of failure to file and pay state withholding tax. Causey is vice-president of Enterprise
Woodworks, Inc. of 902 East Main St., Locust.
Judge Scott Brewer issued Causey a 45-day suspended sentence and placed him on supervised
probation for three years. Causey was ordered to pay $6,062.65 in restitution to the North
Carolina Department of Revenue.
The charges against Causey are the result of efforts by the Department of Revenue Monroe
Office.
