Gaston County Businessman Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH -- A Gaston County resident was found guilty Wednesday of tax charges filed by the
North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Charles J. Curry, 50, of 942 South Marietta St. Gastonia, was found guilty March 26, 2003
of one count of failure to file and pay the state withholding tax. Curry was the responsible
officer for C & T Heating & Cooling and Curry & Tanner Heating & Cooling of
Gastonia. Both businesses are closed. He now operates Curry Heating and Cooling Inc. of Gastonia.
Judge Angela Hoyle issued Curry a 30-day suspended sentence and placed him on unsupervised
probation for five years.
The charges against Curry are the result of efforts by the Department of Revenue Gastonia
Office.
