Iredell County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH -- An Iredell County resident was found guilty Tuesday of tax charges filed by the
North Carolina Department of Revenue.
George L. Johnson, 64, of 1150 Fourth Creek Landing Dr., Statesville, was found guilty Jan.
14, 2003 of two counts of failure to pay state individual income tax.
Judge Wayne Michael issued Johnson two 45-day suspended sentences. Johnson was placed on
supervised probation for 24 months and ordered to pay $24,379.36 in restitution. He must also
pay a $200 fine as well as court costs.
The charges against Johnson are the result of efforts by the Department of Revenue Statesville
Office.
