Harnett County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH -- A Harnett County resident was found guilty Tuesday of tax charges filed by the
North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Kathleen McElroy, 47, of 42 Lizard Lick Lane, Cameron was found guilty March 4, 2003 of 11
counts of failure to file and failure to pay the State sales tax. McElroy is the sole proprietor
of Dats'a Amore Pizza in Cameron. The business is no longer operating.
Judge Frank Lanier issued McElroy two, 45-day consecutive sentences. The sentences were suspended
and McElroy was ordered to pay the $3,580.62 owed to the State within 18 months.
The charges against McElroy are the result of efforts by the Department of Revenue Fayetteville
Office.
