Lincoln County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH -- A Lincoln County business owner pleaded guilty Tuesday
to tax charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Kenneth J. Ricardo, 32, of 5380 Bill Sain Road, Vale, pleaded guilty
to four counts of failure to file and pay state sales and withholding
taxes. Ricardo is president of Ricardo Enterprises Inc., which operates
Pizza Hot Line, a restaurant located at 1895 North Highway 16, Denver.
Judge Charles Horne issued Ricardo a 45-day suspended sentence. Ricardo
was placed on supervised probation for three years and was ordered
to pay $7,361.30 in restitution to the North Carolina Department of
Revenue. He must also pay a $500 fine, $50 in court costs and perform
50 hours of community service.
The charges against Ricardo are the result of efforts by the Department
of Revenue Gastonia Office.
