Lincoln County Businessman Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH -- A Lincoln County resident was found guilty Tuesday of tax charges filed by the
North Carolina Department of Revenue.
William J. Walker Jr., 44, of 1891 North Highway 16, Denver, was found guilty March 25, 2003
of one count of failure to file and pay state sales and withholding taxes. Walker is the sole
proprietor of Lake Norman Flowers & Gifts, located in Denver, North Carolina.
Judge Dean Black issued Walker a 45-day suspended sentence, placed him on supervised probation
and ordered him to pay $100 in court costs.
The charges against Walker are the result of efforts by the Department of Revenue Gastonia
Office.
