Watauga County Business Owner Sentenced on State Tax Charges

BOONE -- A Watauga County resident pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges
filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Frederick C. Alderson of 2973 Broadstone Road, Sugar Grove, pleaded
guilty on April 13, 2004 to 10 counts of failure to file the state
withholding tax.
Judge Kyle Austin issued Alderson a 30-day sentence, which was suspended
for three years. He was ordered to pay $2,758 in restitution to the
North Carolina Department of Revenue.
The charges against Alderson are the result of efforts by the Department
of Revenue Hickory Office.
