Wake County Business Owner Sentenced on State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A local business owner pleaded guilty in Wake County
District Court recently to charges filed by the North Carolina Department
of Revenue.
Roland W. Aldrich III, owner of Musician's Sound & Light, 3204
Crandon Lane, Raleigh pleaded guilty on May 17, 2004 to two counts
of failure to pay the state sales tax.
Judge Michael Morgan issued Aldrich a 45-day suspended sentence and
placed him on supervised probation two years. He was ordered to pay
$9,838 in restitution, a $1,150 fine and court costs. He will be placed
on unsupervised probation after all payments are made.
The charges against Aldrich are the result of efforts by the Department
of Revenue Raleigh Collection Office.
