RALEIGH – An Iredell County business owner pleaded guilty Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2003 to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.

Daniel Maxwell of 108 Claremont Way, Mooresville, pleaded guilty to one count of failure to pay the state withholding tax. Maxwell is president of PTC Electrical Construction Company Inc. of Mooresville.

Judge James Honeycutt issued a 45-day sentence, which was suspended for five years. Maxwell will remain on supervised probation during that time and must pay $8,456.71 in restitution, a $500 fine and court costs.

The charges against Maxwell are the result of efforts by the Department of Revenue Hickory Office.
