Wake County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Holly Springs business owner pleaded guilty Thursday
to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Roland Mountain of 217 Arbor Creek Dr., Holly Springs pleaded guilty
on Feb.19, 2004 to two counts of failure to pay the state sales tax.
Mountain was the owner of American Heritage Cabinetry, Inc. in Holly
Springs. The business is now closed.
Judge Monica Bousman sentenced Mountain to 45-days for each count.
The sentences were suspended and Mountain was placed on supervised
probation for 24 months. He was ordered to pay $17,342.98 in restitution
to the Department of Revenue within that time. He must also pay court
costs.
The charges against Mountain are the result of efforts by the Department
of Revenue Raleigh Collections Office.
