Forsyth County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges
RALEIGH – A Forsyth County business owner pleaded guilty Thursday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Warren Eugene Southern of 3801 Old Rosebud Court, Apt. H, Clemmons, pleaded guilty on Feb.19, 2004 to two counts of failure to failure and pay the state withholding tax. Southern is the owner of A Southern Breeze, a heating and air-conditioning company located at 6300 Ramada Drive, Suite F-2, Clemmons.
Judge Lori Hutchens sentenced Southern to two, 45-day sentences. The sentences were suspended and Southern was ordered to pay $10,018 over 18 months through the county’s deferred payment plan. He must also pay court costs.
The charges against Southern are the result of efforts by the Department of Revenue Winston-Salem Collections Office.
