Iredell County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

An Iredell County resident pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges filed
by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
William T. Gibbs of 1227 Rolling Lane, Statesville, pleaded guilty
on Jan. 4, 2005 to three counts of failure to file and pay the state
income tax.
Judge Sam Cathey issued Gibbs a 45-day suspended sentence. Gibbs
was placed on supervised probation for two years. He was ordered to
pay a $100 fine and court costs.
The charges against Gibbs are the result of efforts by the Department’s
Hickory Collections Office.
