Wake County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges
RALEIGH – A Wake County business owner pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
James Blinco of 3701 Saratoga Drive, Raleigh, pleaded guilty to failure to file and failure to pay the state sales, corporate income and personal income taxes. Blinco was the owner and operator of Blinco’s Sports Restaurant located on Falls of the Neuse Road. The restaurant is now closed.
Judge Donald Overby issued Blinco a 30-day suspended sentence. He was placed on unsupervised probation for 36 months. He must pay file and pay his 2004 corporate and individual income taxes within 60 days and pay court costs as well as $10 fine.
The charges against Blinco are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
