Wake County Couple Guilty of State Tax Charges
RALEIGH – A Wake County couple pleaded guilty recently to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Dwight E. and Lottie L. Hinnant were each charged with three counts of failure to file and failure to pay the state individual income tax. They pleaded guilty on Jan. 11, 2006.
Each received a 75-day sentence. Their sentences were suspended and both were placed on supervised probation for 18 months. The couple was ordered to pay $3,000 owed to the Department of Revenue by Feb. 10, 2006.
The charges against the Hinnants are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
