Cleveland County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges
A Cleveland County business owner pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges filed by the
North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Jerry O. Adams III pleaded guilty on Jan. 17, 2007 to failure to file and pay the state
individual income tax. Judge K. Dean Black issued Adams a 45-day suspended sentence
and Adams was placed on supervised probation for 24 months. The sentence
will be reduced to unsupervised probation after he pays court costs and restitution of
$3,675 to the state.
The charges against Adams are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory
