Two Wake County Residents Guilty of State Tax Charges
RALEIGH – Two Wake County men pleaded guilty Thursday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
James A. Clarke II of 2925 Dandridge Drive, Raleigh pleaded guilty on Jan. 4, 2007 to four counts of failure to file and pay the state individual income tax. He was given a 45-day suspended sentence and was placed on supervised probation for 60 months. He must file and pay all taxes by April 30, 2007.
In an unrelated case, another Wake County resident was charged with two counts of failure to file and pay the state individual income tax. Frank L. Bennett of 4508 Jacqueline Lane, Raleigh pleaded guilty and received a 45-day suspended sentence. He was placed on unsupervised probation for one year and was ordered to pay a $400 fine and court costs.
The charges against Clarke and Bennett are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
