Ashe County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges
An Ashe County business owner pleaded guilty Thursday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Adel N. Mansour pleaded guilty on Jan. 18, 2007 to failure to file and pay the state sales and withholding taxes. Mansour operates the Savory Chef restaurant located at 1992 Highway 16 North in Crumpler.
Judge David Byrd issued Mansour a 45-day suspended sentence and placed him on supervised probation for 24 months. Mansour was also ordered to pay $9,590.25 in restitution.
The charges against Mansour are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
