Cleveland County Man Guilty of State Tax Charges; Receives Active Jail Sentence

A Cleveland County resident was sentenced to an active prison term Thursday for charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Herman B. Brown of 119 Thompson Drive, Kings Mountain was charged with one count of failure to file and pay the state individual income tax.
Brown appeared in Cleveland County District Court and Judge Dean Black sentenced him to 120 days of active prison time. He will serve his sentence at the Neuse Correctional Center in Goldsboro.
The charges against him are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
