Cleveland County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

A Cleveland County woman pleaded guilty this week to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Senora L. Brown of 409 Whisnant St., Shelby pleaded guilty on April 22, 2008 to failure to file and pay the state individual income tax. Judge Meredith Shuford issued Brown a 45-day suspended sentence and placed her on supervised probation for 36 months. She must pay $14,885.25 in restitution and $100 in court costs.
The charges against Brown are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
