Lincoln County Man Guilty of State Tax Charges

A Lincoln County resident pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Brian Goins of 2192 Swanson Road, Crouse pleaded guilty on March 4, 2008 in Lincoln County District Court to failure to file and pay the state income tax.
Judge J. Keaton Fonvielle issued Goins a 45-day suspended sentence and placed him on 36 months supervised probation. He must pay $17,536.64 in restitution and pay a $100 fine and court costs.
The charges against Goins are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
