Wake County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges

A Wake County man pleaded guilty recently to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Rajinder Grewal pleaded guilty on May 13, 2008 in Wake County District Court to one count of failure to file and one count of failure to pay the state sales and use tax. Grewal is president of Khusi, Inc., and operates a sandwich shop located at 2831 Wendell Blvd. in Wendell.
Grewal received a 30-day suspended sentence and was placed on 12 months unsupervised probation. He must pay a $300 fine and court costs.
The charges against Grewal are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
