Wake County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Wake County business owner pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Jon J. Hartley of 6608 Johnsdale Road, Raleigh pleaded guilty on April 8, 2008 in Wake County District Court to one count of failure to file and pay the state sales and use tax. Hartley is the owner of Hartley Press, a printing company.
Hartley received a 45-day suspended sentence and was placed on three years supervised probation. He must also pay $4,851.93 in restitution and pay a $100 fine.
The charges against Hartley are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
