Wilkes County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

A Wilkes County man pleaded guilty recently to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Dennis D. Isaacs, 55, of 1564 Old 60 Highway, Millers Creek pleaded guilty on May 9, 2008 to one count of failure to file and pay the state individual income tax.
Judge David Byrd issued Isaacs a 45-day suspended sentence and placed him on supervised probation. Isaacs was ordered to pay $43,786.93 in restitution and file his 2005 and 2006 state tax returns within 90 days.
The charges against Isaacs are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
