Wake County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Wake County business owner pleaded guilty today in Wake County District Court to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Juwain Latese Mingo of Raleigh pleaded guilty to one count of failure to file and pay the state sales and use tax. Mingo is owner of I Candy, a clothing store located at 3611 Spring Forest Road, Suite 104 in Raleigh.
Judge Anne B. Salisbury issued Mingo a 45-day suspended sentence and placed her on 36 months supervised probation. Mingo must also pay $3,808.71 in restitution and court costs.
The charges against Mingo are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
