Catawba County Woman Guilty of State Tax Charges

A Catawba County woman pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Rhonda P. Moser, 47, whose last known address was 919 3rd Ave. Place in Hickory, pleaded guilty on April 29, 2008 to six charges of failure to pay the state sales tax. Moser is the owner of McLeod’s Florist located at 805 Highland Ave. SE in Hickory. The company closed in February of 2008.
Judge John R. Mull issued Moser a 45-day suspended sentence and ordered her to pay $1,947.82 in restitution within 60 days. She must also pay court costs.
The charges against are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
