Cleveland County Man Guilty of State Tax Charges

A Cleveland County man pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Daryl B. Parker of 1744 Stony Point Road, Shelby pleaded guilty on March 26, 2008 to two counts of failure to pay the state individual income tax. Judge Larry Wilson issued Parker two 45-day suspended sentences and placed him on supervised probation for 48 months. Parker was ordered to pay $18,698.38 in restitution, $300 in fines and pay court costs.
The charges against Parker are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
