Iredell County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

An Iredell County man pleaded guilty recently in District Court to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Brandon A. Pierce of 211 W. Broad St., Statesville pleaded guilty on May 5, 2008 to failure to file and pay the state sales and use tax.
Judge April Wood issued Pierce a 45-day suspended sentence and placed him on supervised probation for 18 months. Pierce was also ordered to pay $6,176.06 in restitution and pay court costs.
The charges against Pierce are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
