Wake County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH &ndash A Wake County woman pleaded guilty to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Gloria Sawyer of 1008 Southgate Drive, Raleigh pleaded guilty on April 24, 2008 to failure to file and pay the state income and withholding taxes. Sawyer is the CEO of Mission House for Women, located in Raleigh.
Sawyer was placed on supervised probation for 36 months. She must also pay restitution, which will be determined within 30 days when her delinquent returns are filed.
The charges against Sawyer are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
