Wake County Businessman Guilty of State Tax Charges

A Wake County man pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Abdul Zalal of 2800 Fairview Rd., Raleigh pleaded guilty on June 4, 2008 to one count of failure to file and pay the state withholding tax. Zalal is owner of North American Bocker Roofing and Construction of Raleigh.
Zalal received a 120-day suspended sentence and was placed on 12 months unsupervised probation. He must also pay a $50 fine.
The charges against Zalal are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
