Guilford County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges
Date: June 30, 2009
Raleigh - A Guilford county resident pleaded guilty to failure to file and pay the state individual income tax on March 4 in Guilford County District Court.
Otis L. Wilson of 5 Round Hill Court, Greensboro, received a suspended sentence of 90 days with supervised probation until May 6, 2009. He was also ordered to file all missing tax returns. Wilson received several continuations and did not appear for his court date on June 15. He failed to file his returns, and no records were found that showed Mr. Wilson reporting for his probation. An order for his arrest was issued with a $25,000 bond.
The charges against Wilson are the result of efforts by the N.C. Department of Revenue collections office in Greensboro.
