Catawba County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

Raleigh - A Catawba county resident pleaded guilty Dec. 16 in Catawba County District Court of failure to file and pay state income tax.
Bobby J. Bowling of 1276 Riverview Dr., Hickory, was sentenced to 45 days. The jail time was suspended to 18 months of supervised probation. He was ordered to pay court costs, attorney fees, restitution of $2599.89, and file 2000-2008 income tax returns.
The charges against Bowling are the result of efforts by the N.C. Department of Revenue collections office in Hickory.
