Union County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Union County business owner pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges filed by
the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Joshua M. Crumpler, 31, pleaded guilty on Sept. 9, 2003 to eight counts of failure to file
and pay the state withholding tax. Crumpler is chief executive officer of Diamond Concrete
Finishing Co. of 4203 W. Highway 74, Monroe.
Judge Scott Brewer issued Crumpler a 45-day suspended sentence. Crumpler was placed on supervised
probation for five years and was ordered to pay the taxes owed during his probation period.
His supervised probation will be dropped if the taxes are paid in full before five years.
The charges against Crumpler are the result of efforts by the Department of Revenue Monroe
Office.
