Johnston County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges
A Johnston County resident pleaded guilty recently to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Preston Hill of 6748 Brogden Road, Smithfield, pleaded guilty on June 3, 2005, to failure to file and pay the state individual income tax.
Judge A. A. Corbett issued Hill a 45-day suspended sentence. Hill was placed on five years supervised probation and was ordered to pay restitution for 1998 individual income taxes and file his 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 individual income tax returns..
The charges against Hill are the result of efforts by the Department’s Greenville Collections Office.
