Iredell County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges
An Iredell County business owner pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Mohammad Reza Mehrzadeh pleaded guilty on Oct. 4, 2005 to one count of failure to pay the state sales and use tax. Mehrzadeh was president of The MO of Statesville, Inc.
Judge Theodore S. Royster, Jr. issued Mehrzadeh 45-day sentence. The sentence was suspended and Mehrzadeh was placed on supervised probation for five years. He must pay $12,962.82 in restitution.
The charges against Mehrzadeh are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
