Wake County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges
RALEIGH – A Wake County business owner pleaded guilty recently to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Karen A. Ross pleaded guilty on Nov. 9, 2005 to failure to file and pay the state sales and use and withholding taxes. Ross is president of K. Ross Enterprises, Inc., which operates Montgomery’s Florist of Raleigh.
Judge Kristin Ruth issued Ross a 30-day suspended sentence and placed her on unsupervised probation for 12 months.
The charges against Ross are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
