Wake County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Wake County business owner pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges
filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Yvonne G. Bredell pleaded guilty on July 5, 2006 to failure to file and pay the state sales and use tax. Bredell was co-owner of the It’s A Family Thing Seafood & Soul Food restaurant. The business is closed.
Bredell received a 45-day suspended sentence and was placed on 24 months supervised probation. She must pay $4,227.93 in restitution, a $100 fine and court costs.
The charges against Bredell are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
