Lincoln County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges
A Lincoln County business owner pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Patricia Cavazos pleaded guilty on Oct. 25, 2006 to failure to file and failure to pay the state sales and withholding taxes. Cavazos is president of CTK Enterprises, Inc., which operated a Heavenly Ham store located in Denver. The store is now closed.
Judge K. Dean Black issued Cavazos 45-day suspended sentence and placed her on supervised probation for 36 months. She must pay $13,794.85 in restitution, court costs and file all delinquent returns within four months.
The charges against Cavazos are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
