Wake County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Wake County man pleaded guilty Thursday to charges filed by the North
Carolina Department of Revenue.
Steven L. Cox of 400 Latimer Road, Raleigh pleaded guilty on Aug. 9, 2007 to failure
to file and failure to pay the state individual income tax. He received a 120 day
suspended sentence and was placed on supervised probation for 60 months. He was ordered
to pay $108,194.27 in restitution, pay court costs and file and pay all future taxes on
time.
The charges against Cox are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh
Collections Office.
