Wilkes County Man Sentenced on State Tax Charges

A Wilkes County resident pleaded no contest to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Christopher T. Greer of 199 Applewood Lane, North Wilkesboro did not contest the agency’s charge that he failed to file and pay the state individual income tax.
Judge Jeanie Houston issued Greer a suspended sentence and placed him on supervised probation for 36 months. He was also ordered to pay $7,888.97 in restitution and pay court costs.
The charges against Greer are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
