Wake County Businessman Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Wake County business owner pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Brian Hereghty pleaded guilty on Oct. 23, 2007 to one count of failure to file and pay the state sales tax. He is the managing partner of the Hereghty Goup, LLC, which operates Hereghty Heavenly Delicious, a bakery located at 2603 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh.
Hereghty received a 30-day suspended sentence and was placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months.
The charges against Hereghty are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
