Wake County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH -- A Wake County businessman pleaded guilty Tuesday in District Court to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Arthur G. Culbreth pleaded guilty on Dec. 2, 2008 to one count each of failure to file and failure to pay the state sales and use tax. Culbreth is the owner of Lake Wheeler Auto Care Inc., located at 5920 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh. The business is closed.
Culbreth received a 45-day suspended sentence and 60 months of supervised probation. Culbreth must also pay $6,795.71 in restitution, a $150 fine and court costs.
The charges against Culbreth are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
