Cleveland County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

A Cleveland County woman pleaded guilty Wednesday in District Court to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Sherry P. Horn of 2233 Flint Hill Church Road, Shelby pleaded guilty on Oct. 29, 2008 to one count of failure to file and pay the state individual income tax.
District Court Judge Robert Hodges issued Horn a suspended sentence and placed her on 36 months probation. Horn must also pay $40,474.19 in restitution.The charges against Horn are the result of efforts by the Department’s Hickory Collections Office.
