Wake County Businessman Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Garner man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Wake County District Court to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Michael J. Logan of 105 Twain Dr., Garner pleaded guilty on Aug. 5, 2008 to one count of failure to file and pay the state sales and use tax. Logan is president of Helium Express of N.C., Inc., which is located at 113 Technical Court, Garner.
Logan received a 45-day suspended sentence and was placed on 12 months probation. He must also pay a $100 fine and court costs.
The charges against Logan are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
