Wake County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges

RALEIGH – A Wake County woman pleaded guilty today in District Court to charges filed by the North Carolina Department of Revenue.
Rochelle R. Loper pleaded guilty on Aug. 5, 2008 to failure to file and pay the state sales and use tax. Loper is the owner of Club Ital Lion, a nightclub located at 110 E. Hargett St., Raleigh.
Loper received a 45-day suspended sentence and was placed on unsupervised probation for 12 months. She must also pay a $100 fine and court costs.
The charges against Loper are the result of efforts by the Department’s Raleigh Collections Office.
