Wake County Business Owner Guilty of State Tax Charges

Raleigh - A Wake county woman was found guilty August 11 in Wake County District Court of failure to file and pay the state withholding tax.

Angela Brown, president of Little People University of 5600 Duraleigh Road, Raleigh, was sentenced to 45 days. The jail time was suspended to 18 months supervised probation, to be transferred to unsupervised upon full payment of $2,123.50 in restitution. She must also file and pay her taxes on time. Little People University is a daycare center that is still operating at the Duraleigh Road address.

The charges against Brown are the result of efforts by the N.C. Department of Revenue collections office in Raleigh.
