Cleveland County Resident Guilty of State Tax Charges

Raleigh - A Cleveland county resident was found guilty Aug. 18 in Cleveland County District Court of failure to pay state income tax.
Reginald Chatman of 426 Sutle Street, Apt. E, Shelby, was sentenced to 90 days. The jail time was suspended to 24 months supervised probation. He was ordered to pay restitution of $9,076.85 and file all North Carolina tax returns on time.
The charges against Chatman are the result of efforts by the N.C. Department of Revenue collections office in Hickory.
